Richard Bledsoe

Today we feature the painting, The Fishing Ground, by Richard Bledsoe. Enjoy!

“My paintings are created after visions I experience. I am shown a complete image which I don’t necessarily understand at first, but like a dream, it is full of symbolic significance. The Fishing Ground makes me think of the book of Job, of Leviathan, and God the fisherman.”

Richard Bledsoe is a Phoenix, Arizona painter and writer. He grew up in Manassas, Virginia, and in 1993 received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He was one of the founding members of Phoenix art gallery Deus Ex Machina (2007-2012). He is coauthor of the children’s book The Secret Kingdom with his wife, painter Michele Bledsoe. Their work can be seen at Improbable Art.
